As the winter comes by, it is time to remember the great weddings we shot 2015 summer season; of course with some coffee on the side; preferably Latte.
All weddings may look the same, however there is always something making it uniq; sometimes people, decoration, venue; sometimes crazy parties. This time, we were invited to a Greek Orthodoks Wedding in Ecumnenical Patriarch in Istanbul. Vaya & Dimitris, great couple, great family, great friends. We will definately visit them, next time we visit Greece.
Me and My wife, we are from the Egean coast of Turkey, very close to Greece by distance as well as by heart. We spend our holidays in Samos every year. So this wedding was a bit more emotional for us. It was suprising to see how much common we have.
I remember Vaya ordering the coffee as “Turkish Coffee”, Greeks will know, it is Greek coffee for Greeks, and Turkish coffee for Turkish people (actually all comes from Brasil, anyway). FYI, we also offer our coffees as “Greek Coffee” when we visit the Islands
Dimitris got ready in a different Hotel, and they did not want to see each other before the ceremony…He loves these one
We’ve been to hundreds of weddings, but this one was our first at Ecumnenical Patriarch in Istanbul, where you start to feel peace, endlessness, zero-ego. People at the Patriarch were so calm, helping and peaceful.
Ayzen (my wife) being a journalist, she was so careful to understand the meanings of each move Vaya & Dimitris do during the ceremony. It is a magnificant place, I understood why Greek couples come over for their weddings.
The Patriarch is located in the heart of the old Istanbul, called Balat.( The address to Greek Ecumnenical Patriarch in Istanbul )
Here are the wedding ceremony photos from the wedding Ceremony in the Patriarch
And here we go with more photos of the 2nd reason why Vaya & Dimitris chosen Istanbul for their destination wedding
Thank you guys making us the witness of your most important day in your life!
